To my readers who cannot read Chinese: this entry is a prose about my trip in China from Sep. 29 to Oct. 11: what I’ve seen and a lot of nostalgic feelings. I’ll try to post a English version later. Photos made during the trip will be posted soon.

Ost Trifft West by Yang Liu on amazon.de
It’s a small book with warmth of daily life, humour, and sophistication. It however does not require the concentration that is usually needed for reading a book on a subject that is as heavy as this. The compositions in the pictures are concise and powerful. I admire Liu [...]

I don’t feel happy to hear these [...]

In the National Geographic German version issue July 2008, there is a story about China. I bought this issue and read the complete story. Very well written. The authors had lived in China for many years, what they described is quite fact-oriented. The critiques are quite to the point. The story was written with [...]

The Wise: Helmut Schmidt, ex. Chancellor of West Germany from 1974 to 1982. The talk below was on 2008.05.20. When I get time I’ll try to translate it into English.
The complete interview can be found here.
If only Angela Merkel were as half as wise as Helmut Schmidt is, Germany would have much less problems now. [...]

Just watched ARD’s report about why German people are so reluctant to donate to victims of the recent natural disasters in China or Myanmar. First of all, let me make clear that I know donation should be voluntary.
People in today’s program talked about donation scandals, they worried that the donation would not get [...]

Jim Rogers: China’s Economic Advance is All But Unstoppable Recently I was reading a 20-year-old book “Market Widzards: Interviews with Top Traders” and was deeply impressed by Jim Roger’s accurate prediction for the world economics in late 1980s. More impressive was his way of viewing the world economics. Now let’s see what he said about [...]
