The other day I stared at Henri Cartier-Bresson’s Siphnos (the left picture) in a book for a very long time. Dirk felt strange and asked what was so good about this picture. I read the introduction in the book “…the form, tone, proportion, lines, structure and balance (are all perfect)…” to him. He immediately showed me a checker board and said “This is as good!!!”.
